RE: Big three auto makers in big trouble

My oppion is..... The auto makers in the USA have had ample time to make a vehicle that gives great gas milage and be dependable, they started in the 70's when we had our last big delema with the oil cartell, they started to make higer milage vehicles, then every body wanted a SUV to haul the kids to school in instead of a station wagon which they stoped making except for Volvo. I have no tears in my eyes for the BIG Three and there CEO's and share holders Greed. I do feel sorry for the workers on the line, they are the only ones that will be affected by there companies failure, not the upper brass though, they will still have there homes and big plains to go around to Washington with there tin cups out and all with alagator tears.

In california if you tow a travel trailer over 10,000 lbs. or fifth over 15,000 lbs you must have a class A license
Class C with an endorcement, or a class A noncomercal, is what you ment wasn't it.

RE: Where to buy ADCO cover?

Yes, they are sold at CW. As I said in the OP, they were on sale, and now they are on another sale at CW, but I was wondering if they were cheaper anywhere else. The 34' Tyvek cover and 4 tire guards was about $430 at CW. SO far, I found them for about $390 at RV Wholesalers and RV Supply Warehouse.
That sounds like the place to buy the cover, but as trails2004 said the ADCO covers dont hold up as long, I also have heard this statement before from others that have owned them, another reason I don't have one. as the saying goes "you get what you pay for".

RE: Locking down propane tanks

Looks good to me. I might suggest a cover for the padlock keyway or turn it over to keep dirt and moisture out of the locks keyway, It might make a diffacult opening some day.
All you write in burgulars out there.... whens the last time you had a tank stolen from you? not me anyway, been camping sence 71.

RE: Generator question.

If you have a portable gen set as I do, I use it only if there is no power for the RV, I will plug my trailer power cord into the generator as if I was at a campground. if it is perminately mounted to the RV it most of the time will do all the switching automatically and supply your RV with all the power it can supply to run the RV safely.

Digital converter box question

I tried to conect my new digital converter box to my bat wing antenna, I conected it to the out side of the amplifed conector to the in side on the converter then to the TV, and got no results. is there a reason for this? is it because it has a amplifier on the line before the converter? any sugestions?

RE: Fleas - Help me please

I tried Diatomaceous Earth years ago, it is costly, and it didn't work for me. If I'm not mistaken it can cause long term damage to your carpet foam underliner. if looked at under a microscope (so they say) DE has a sharp edges which will cut fibers over a long period of time.
If your infestation is very bad it is a lot cheaper to go with a extermator in the long run, if they come back in 30 days which is about what they do. you just call the exterminator back and they spray again for no fee, they have the good stuff we cant buy.
Catman thanks for the reminder on Revolution, I forgot the name, but thats the name of the stuff I used, and I got it at Home Depot too.

RE: Fleas - Help me please

switch to another brand, Advantage. if you are using Frontline now. sometimes you have to change, fleas seem to become emuned to there poison and a switch is necessary. also frontline does not kill fleas or eggs, Advantage plus does. it works for our cat and dog.
you will have to vacume your rugs every three days and empty the vacume bag outside for at least two weeks. home depot has a flea spray that works for 9 months, it's in a red plastic bottle and a pump sprayer, we have found that that works good when you have declared war on them little guys along with the vacuming.

RE: Question-update mapping-Garmin

Kathy I just did an up date for my 340 Garmin and the cost was about 70-$90 for the CD you will get a few more POI's but still not that big of a change to notice. I also went and purchased a DeLorme program with the attachment to make your laptop a GPS station, and of course MS Streets and Trips, all the programs tell differant things and most of them dont agree with each on place names, locations and directions to. I believe that I was able to up date my garmin on line for free, the computer was $$$$ for the CD though. but the short of it is I'll keep using my Garmin untill it dies, then I'll buy a new GPS. I have to get my 300 plus $$$ out of it before I get a new one. It works as good as most GPS and I dont always take its directions for law.

RE: Water Heater Flushing?

CW sells a wand that fits on your garden hose it has a small hole so there is a realy hard stream that brakes up all the stuff in the heater.
